01 / THE CHALLENGE

What needed to be solved?

Wrapped contents entries, multilingual abstracts and keywords were causing automatic extraction errors.

02 / OUR WORK

Our contribution

We adapted extraction to the journal’s layout, corrected article boundaries and language blocks, fixed keyword persistence, and added comparisons with source PDF pages.

03 / THE RESULT

What changed in practice?

In a verification import, the article’s 11 PDF pages matched the source at image level. Uzbek, Russian and English metadata were checked separately.

Project capabilities

For the user
practical benefits.

  • Extracting articles from complete issues
  • Abstracts and keywords in three languages
  • Preserving the original PDF appearance
  • References and author metadata
  • Preserving keywords during subsequent edits

Publishing and citation exports are core journal-system capabilities. Wick contributed the import algorithm, layout rules and metadata persistence fixes.
